Celebrating its 71st year at the Larson Gallery, the Central Washington Artists’ Exhibition showcases the most current and innovative artwork being produced in this region.
The juror this year is Jonathan Happ. Jonathan was born in Sterling, IL. He received a BFA from Iowa State University and an MFA from University of Washington. He is both an art scholar and an awarded fine art instructor, having taught privately and at well-known institutions including the University of Washington-Seattle, UW-Bothell, The Evergreen State College, and Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. He currently resides in Tumwater, WA with his wife, daughter, and cat. In addition to being a painter, Happ is the Director of Childhood’s End Gallery, in Olympia, WA.
This year we had 103 artists submit 270 pieces. 83 works by 59 artists have been accepted for this years show.

Judy Kalin was born in Seattle, Washington in 1945, and resides today in Moses Lake, Washington with her husband.
Judy has been accepted into several juried shows including Northwest Watercolor Society (Bellevue Art Museum), Western Washington State Fair, and the Puget Sound Area Exhibition (Frye Art Museum) in Seattle. She is an active current member of Puget Sound Sumi Association since 2005 and Women Painters of Washington since 2013.
Sumi (ink painting) has been her primary medium and has found this medium to be inspiring. Judy has a tendency to paint more contemporary, or western style Sumi. She also works in other mediums, such as oils and cold wax, watercolor, and acrylics. Her love for creativity is always an adventure when trying new mediums.

Where is Larson Gallery?
- From I-82 take the Nob Hill Boulevard Exit (Exit #34). Turn to go west at the end of the freeway ramp (coming from Tri-Cities this would be a left turn onto Nob Hill, from Ellensburg it will be a right turn onto Nob Hill).
- Stay on Nob Hill past South First Street and over the railroad overpass until you get to the light at South 16th Avenue.
- Turn left on 16th, then right into the parking lot between Taco Bell and Larson Gallery.
