Here’s how to participate!

1. Choose one of these prompts:
   1. Still Life (use 8.5”x11” paper only): Draw, paint, or make a collage that depicts food. This could be favorite foods in an artistic
      arrangement, a picture of a meal on a table, a shelf in the grocery store, something you wish you could eat, or food you saw in a dream! It is up to you! You could draw, cut out items from old magazines, paint – use your imagination to create a fun still life with a culinary theme.
   2. The Beauty of Words (use 8.5”x11” paper only): Choose a word and create a design that is either inspired by that word or uses the letters of the word to make a composition. You can draw, paint, or use collage to create this word-inspired picture. It can be a word that you like, a word that relates to something you want to explore, or a word that feels powerful to you – consider the colors and shapes that the word brings into your mind when you say it. Do you think it has soft or hard edges? How could that inspire your drawing?
   3. The Community Forest (use paper of any size): Draw trees or animals of the forest, or use cut pieces of paper to collage them together. The forest elements you draw can be the sorts of things you see in our region, or something you once saw a picture, or read about in a book, or they could be from your imagination. Please cut your drawing out so that there is no background behind your tree or animal. The cut-out trees and animals will be added together into a large forest made up of drawings by many people that hang together on the wall during the art exhibition.
2. Drop off your artwork at Larson Gallery by November 21st.
   • Be sure your name is on the back. If you want your work back after the show (ends December 19, 2026), please pick it up before the end of January 2027. Work left after January may be recycled.
   • Gallery Location: In Yakima, on the corner of Nob Hill Blvd and 16th Ave (behind Taco Bell).
   • Gallery Hours: Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm, Saturdays (during exhibitions only) Noon-5pm. The Gallery will be closed December 22nd, 2026-January 5th, 2027.
   • Parking is available. Yakima Transit bus lines 2, 3, 4, and 5 have nearby stops. Consult a transit map to see which stop is best.
3. You are invited to the opening reception for the show!
   • There will be snacks, art activities, and pictures with Santa. This is a free event. Snacks and Time with Santa are fist come, first served (limited availability).

Opening Reception: Saturday, December 12, 2026; 1-3pm.

Can’t make it to the opening reception? This show will be up in the gallery through Saturday, December 19, 2027.
