Jan Jimenez was born in Cavité, Philippines, and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He has engaged in the fine arts at an early age, having taken art classes throughout elementary school. A “jack-of-all-trades”, Jan demonstrates a versatility in the arts: playing viola, self-taught on the piano, and drawing with a multitude of mediums – ranging from the traditional to the digital. In much of his work, Jimenez finds inspiration in the human body, drawn from his personal experiences being born with spina bifida.

Jan Jimenez graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA in 2017, with a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology & Global Health, Human Evolutionary Biology, and Drawing & Painting.

Jimenez has contributed his talents to produce work ranging from public installations, publications, to personal projects. Equipped with his artist’s eye and fondness for the sciences and humanities, Jan aspires to become a physician to provide greater access to health education and care to disadvantaged communities. He is currently in his third year of medical school at the Pacific Northwest University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
