RECEPTION & GIFT SHOP

Challenge

The current reception area contains both the desk for the receptionist, a work-study student, and the gift shop. The design of this reception area also creates conflict visually, as it interrupts the exhibition area.

Solution

The new dedicated reception area will include an attached larger gift shop. This new gift shop area will have the capacity for more small artworks by local artists, souvenirs, and books and will be accessible by both gallery patrons and the tasting room. The gift shop and reception area are visually separated from the exhibition area and will allow for a grand entry into the gallery.

The partnership between Yakima Valley College and the Larson Gallery Guild creates an environment where ideas flourish.

The Larson Gallery Guild supports the mission of the Larson Gallery to foster curiosity and appreciation for the visual arts in our diverse community.

Your financial donations fund Larson Gallery Guild programming which includes staffing, publications and materials, special events, lectures, workshops, visiting artists, and jurors.

Yakima Valley College supports the Larson Gallery through the maintenance of the building, providing the director’s salary and benefits, technology, security, and work-study students.
